Oui, excellente semaine bien qu'un peu courte ! Effectivement la maison est pleine de charme. Notre départ est proche. Je vous souhaite une bonne continuation.
We really did have a fantastic week. The air conditioning units that were hired for us were an absolute lifesaver, so thank you for providing those. Thank you also to Nick – so responsive and helpful throughout the week. The beds were extremely comfortable, and we absolutely loved the outdoor games area! The chef, LJ was brilliant, and we would highly recommend him to future guests or even yourselves. He was not only charming but also cooked us a delicious meal, and took care of all the serving, clearing away and washing up. I am sure we will be back to Menorca. We absolutely loved it, and it was especially exciting to be there when Spain won the Women's World Cup – what an atmosphere!
Just spoke to the client, they had an amazing time, loved the garden and everything went well. I asked if they had any comments they wanted us to pass on and they only mentioned the gates were not working at some point, but they sorted that out quickly. Overall great holiday.
I spoke with JK today and they had a fantastic time. They loved the villa and said the gardens were beautiful.
We loved our stay at Magister Gardens. The house was perfect and the garden was magical. It was our first time in Menorca and we can't wait to return. Thank you, Nick, for sharing this enchanting place you have created.
We enjoyed our third stay at Magister Gardens this summer and had another wonderful time. We have had to book again for 2026; it's a slice of heaven! It is a home which feels really like you're in the middle of the Menorcan countryside, yet just a short walk to lots of local amenities. The pool and gardens keep our children entertained for hours and with beautiful beaches just a short drive away, we can't recommend it more for location. Nick and Lorena are also incredibly kind hosts who always check in with us to make sure everything is ok, and very accommodating if you have any specific needs.
Love the place. Comfort and privacy.
We loved our week at Magister Gardens in May of this year. The house is a beautiful historic home near the heart of Alaior, yet with easy walking opportunities along quiet ancient roads with the feel of old Menorca. The home was very well appointed, the gardens exquisite and the management team very responsive to our every need. We would love to return and enjoy this home in lovely Alaior.
We loved our stay in Alaior! The home is so unique and the outdoor space is beautiful.
Alaior is a very small town with not a ton in the way of shops or restaurants, so plan to drive if you want more options. We ate dinner in town one night, cooked in one night on the gorgeous patio, and went out to other towns the rest of the nights.
Another thing to note – there is no AC, which I know is listed in the description and very common throughout Europe, but it did get hot during our stay, making for some toasty nights. But that's all part of the experience and we really had no complaints – just something to consider if you need AC to sleep!
The home was very peaceful, relaxing and a perfect jumping off place for exploring all of incredible Menorca!
Incredible property on an amazing island
We had a wonderful stay at Magister Gardens. The house and grounds were immaculate, comfortable, and peaceful. Nick was an attentive and caring host who responded quickly to any questions that we had. We cannot wait to return to Menorca and Magister Gardens in the future.
This is our fourth year staying at Magister Gardens and it remains a place we'd return to again and again. It is a faultless oasis of calm amongst an already peaceful island. The owners, Nick and Lorena, go above and beyond to be helpful and ensured we had a wonderful stay in August 2025.
A breathtaking house and piece of property
From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the beauty of the home and its surroundings. The house is even more stunning in person than in the photos, and the property itself is a dream – private, serene, and the perfect place to relax. I could not recommend this home more!
Magical stay
We had a truly magical stay. You wouldn't believe what awaits you when you first arrive and enter through a little blue door on the edge of the road! It's like a secret retreat. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and everything has been so well considered; wonderful shady spots, an amazing outdoor dining area, and fruit trees everywhere.
As for the house itself, it's all so well equipped with extremely comfortable beds, great bathrooms with powerful showers and an excellent kitchen. We didn't know Menorca at all before this trip but we are already planning a return trip to Alaior as it's so well-placed to be able to explore the whole island. We did lovely morning trips to Ciutadella and Mahón and then back so quickly to enjoy the pool and gardens in the afternoon.
We travelled as 4 adults and 2 children under 4, and it worked really well for us. Nick helped us organise a food delivery shop before we arrived, and provided loads of helpful advice on where to go, as well as helping us organise massages at the house. We have a very adventurous 2-year-old and Nick was really patient with us and her constantly evolving sleeping arrangements! Nothing ever felt like a problem. Could not recommend this house any more so if you're hesitating, don't wait!
Stunning house with beautiful gardens in Menorca
We stayed in Magister Gardens for a week and couldn't be happier! The outdoor area with pool and gardens is absolutely beautiful and very private. The rooms are perfectly laid out and some of them have direct access to the garden, which is very nice. The kitchen and living room are very comfortable and spacious. Perfect for a stay with kids! Communication with the property owner went flawlessly and he made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. The location of the house is actually perfect because everything is within less than a 20–25 min drive. The town of Alaior is very charming and nice to have an evening walk. We would love to come back one day and needless to say, we absolutely recommend it!
Maravillosa casa y jardines
Beautiful property; ideally located; loved it!
Beautiful property, ideally located in the centre of the island for easy access to all beaches and other points of interest. A short stroll to the centre of Alaior, a charming, authentic little town for breakfast, coffee, ice cream and drinks. Very hands-on and responsive owners. Loved it!
A slice of heaven inside, and out
We are a family of six from across three generations who stayed at Magister for 12 days in July 2017. The house itself is tastefully and thoughtfully renovated. It is extremely livable and discreetly elegant.
The stone walls and floors keep the house cool and the pool keeps the guests amused and refreshed. The gardens themselves are jaw-droppingly beautiful, alive, peaceful, day and night. As our twelve-year-old daughter remarked, you can explore the island if you want, but you do not feel compelled to go out, because it is so enchanting and comfortable “at home”.
We shopped in the nearby town, cooked lovely meals, read novels, watched the birds and butterflies circle the gardens, laughed under the shooting stars, admired the plants, observed the roving tortoises and splashed in the pool. The beds were comfortable and we slept very deeply. In sum, we wanted for nothing and marvelled at everything.
If you do choose to adventure outside of the Magister haven, there are stunning beaches with turquoise waters, bike excursions, country rambling, shoe and cheese shopping, mouth-watering local restaurants and gorgeous island drives all within a ten-minute drive of the house.
Finally, by staying in Alaior, an authentic town, you experience the true Menorca. Menorca itself is a secret: a blissful and relatively undeveloped island.
Most importantly, Nick, the visionary and owner of Magister Gardens, is a conscientious, kind, prompt host who truly cares about his guests and his property. We were very fortunate to stay at Magister Gardens. Thank you Nick!
Heavenly
We travel a lot and we had one of our best holidays ever at the magical Magister Gardens. If you want to totally spoil yourself and TOTALLY relax we cannot recommend it highly enough.
First there is the house with its tasteful, neutral decoration, amazingly comfortable beds, great well-stocked kitchen and plentiful bathrooms – the showers have good water pressure!
Then the incredible landscaped garden. Just beautiful. The planting is just perfect. It is unbelievably peaceful. It feels completely secluded. We hardly heard another soul. The only thing you do hear is the chirping of the many birds. It is a wildlife haven. Sitting having breakfast outside and listening to the birds and bees, watching butterflies dancing on the grass and even being visited by the occasional native tortoise is utter heaven.
There are many spots for sunbathing – or sunshading – reading and even browsing on the decent speed wifi. And the pool built into an old water cistern is just inspired and makes for a refreshing dip.
The property is perfectly situated to explore the island (although I have to say we hardly ever left the house it is so beautiful). The pretty town of Alaior is minutes away by foot. Perfect to wander into the square and have a cold beer. The supermarkets are very close in the car.
Nick always responded immediately to any requests. He was really helpful about where to eat, shop etc. We are planning when we can return.
Beautifully renovated Menorcan estate
Despite the high season, the property is private and peaceful, with everything one could wish for in one place. Located perfectly in the centre of the island, all attractions and nature are a short drive away. Would recommend it to everyone, really loved staying there, a beautiful estate.
Magister Gardens is a unique house, as beautiful in real life as it is on the website. The house has been carefully designed and yet it is a holiday house that is easy to maintain. The simple and harmonious colour scheme, the natural stone and the Mediterranean light come together to create a restful and serene atmosphere. What bliss! The house is spacious and offers many places to relax, be it in the garden, in the pool area or inside. There are many fruit trees, so we were able to make a jar of our own Magister Gardens fig jam… The pool is set in an old cistern, which makes it really special too.
As for the surroundings, the small town of Alaior is lively and very authentic; many local people gather on the streets in the late afternoon and the cafés are full of joyous crowds having a drink before going home. We loved it. It's definitely worth driving to the beach rather than staying in a beach complex and missing the experience. As for Menorca, we fell in love with it. Pristine nature, beautiful beaches, no bling. So close to home and yet a real getaway. Thank you for providing such a nice experience! We will be back.
This was our second visit to Alaior, a perfect place to stay to explore all parts of the island. We have found Alaior to be one of the most unspoilt and friendly Menorcan towns, complete with a wood-fired baker's oven in a traditional bakery, which we stumbled across down a small side street one evening.
Magister Gardens is a rather special place to stay. It is newly renovated with great attention to detail and tastefully furnished. All the appliances were new and the kitchen was well equipped. Traditional stone walls and the marble floors kept the inside pleasantly cool.
The property is very private, yet not secluded. Doors open straight onto the garden and we found mature cherry, apricot, orange, lemon, pear, almond and pomegranate trees. Spotting the tortoises roaming free in the wild area became a favourite pastime.
We flew from Exeter, four hours door to door, and would definitely consider booking this property again next year.
